Hot Chocolate a la Eggnog!

Mmmm...

Chilly mornings call for a little warm up. A couple years ago Leeann was visiting and it seems whenever she does visit the noise clatter in and around my apartment keeps her up. This particular morning it was about 5am and all through the house, not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse. Then through the house arose such a clatter....DINKA DINKA DINK DINK DINKA DINKA....Leeann and I jumped up to see what was the matter!

So both of us come storming out of our rooms to the kitchen where Marcus was stirring chocolate milk in his glass...and you know the sound...when you are stirring something with a metal spoon in a glass?? Yeah, all over. Leeann and I looked at each other and stormed back into the room. I mean, what can you do? He was just getting milk. Later that week he was asking for hot chocolate. I told him no because he'd used up the chocolate syrup and we didn't have the packets. I underestimated the kitchen skillz of my friend who went in and whipped him up the best homemade chocolate milk he's ever had. At least that is what he said then.

I have a holiday treat I'd like to share in honor of that memory! Marcus loves the hot chocolate egg nog I make during the holidays. He can only get it one time during the year so it becomes a staple for morning breakfasts in our house. This morning was a great time to make some and he went off a happy kid, let me tell you!

Ingredients
1/2 cup egg nog (NON alcoholic)
1/2 cup whole milk
2-3 tbsp. Cocoa
2 tbsp sugar
1 tbsp Whipped topping (optional)
Holiday Mug!

I really just wanted to show of my Christmas Mug.  I love mugs, I collect them...and use all of them.  Every morning it's a new style in my coffee cup, I am telling you!

Let's just put all of that into the saucepan on medium heat.

Let's stir until it does this!  DONE..END!

Drink up the happiness in a cup!  Marcus did!
