This is not food related and while I am way behind on stuff to put here, I had to share this morning's conversation with my son. I woke up with a headache to end all headaches. I have never actually wanted to bang my head against a wall to stop the pain until...this morning. So instead of head banging my way back into the eighties I got up and moved verrrryyyyy slowly into the kitchen to make my son Marcus his breakfast and lunch for the day. Marcus, hearing his mother muddling around in the kitchen comes in to inspect. I don't know if any of you know about eight year olds but they talk. They talk alot, nonstop from the time they wake up until the time they go to sleep. AND THEN...sometimes...they even talk in their sleep. The same is true for him and as he entered, I held up my hand to stop him before he started.
Me: Marcus, Mama has a really bad headache so hush so I can do this okay?
Marcus with big growing large eyes: Oh man Mom, that's what happened to my knowing stuff. It's why I am so bad in school the headaches came and took away all the stuff I knew like ammonia!
Me: You mean amnesia..??
Marcus: Yeah Amnesia and it will come in and steal away all the school stuff in your head like worms and they take over and make you do things to...
At this point I tried to tune him out because otherwise I'd be drug down into his imagination and forget his sammiches. A couple minutes later I picked back up right...here.
Marcus: ..that's why when I have kids I am going to teach them a hundred ways to make hot chocolate. Don't give it to Mya cause she will be bouncing off the walls.
I was confused and thought..."How did he get from bugs in my brain to hot chocolate? Do I really want to know? Nahhhh."
Me: Okay Marcus no Hot chocolate for Mya...Baby Mama's headache...shhh..
Marcus: Oh that's right...man what if those bugs eat out of your brain and come after me and Mya...you should lay down Mom to protect us cause if they stay in your brain then we are safe....
I tuned out again.
I love that child. We have THE most interesting conversations, or rather he does. I basically just stand there so he can talk at me.
